Week 1 Plans

My second run of the new year was much better than my first: 7.26 miles in 1:21 minutes. One thing I learned about running today: before you plan your routes based on bathrooms to use at the 1-hour mark (please tell me I'm not the only one who does this?) make sure the handy bathroom in the city park that you relyed on all fall hasn't been closed for the winter. Because then you will be grumpy, and have to add a quarter of a mile to your run to hit up a seedy gas station. The run itself felt good though, and my shin is only a little grumpy.

Here are my workouts planned for the week:
Monday:XT, lift
Tuesday: 50 minute run
Wednesday:  hot power yoga, 3 miles
Thursday: 3ish mile group run
Friday: XT, lift
Saturday: 3 miles

Total weekly mileage: around 21 miles

What's your weekly mileage?

  1. Sounds like you have a great plan!
I have just upped my weekly mileage- it seems to hover between 17 and 24 depending on the weather (which dictates the need to stay off the roads on foot and car. boooo!)
Now that my plans include bigger and better things I'm sure I'll be shooting for more time spent pounding the pavement/dreadmill!

  2. that's so funny. I used to plan my runs around bathrooms but since I moved to Pittsburgh NONE of my running routes have bathrooms. Can't eat anytime near when I'm about to run, that's for sure!

  3. Sounds like a great plan! Happy 2011! :0)

  4. OOoooo. Hot yoga! During a cold winter nothing feels better!

  5. Hey, it looks like a great plan to me! I don't plan any runs around bathrooms because I always do an out and back to my house. The end of my run always meets up with my toilet :) HA!

  6. Thanks so much for the encouraging comments and the suggestion to check out a training plan! I'm going to need all the moral support possible and I really appriciate all the helpful advice!

  7. I'm still trying to decide what marathon plan to go with!! I've been following my husband who has a coach but is training for Boston.. BTW the bathroom is very important! LOL
